Over the past fifteen years Estia has provided a forum for showcasing and sharing the rich Hellenic-Australian culture, heritage and tradition with the broader community while fostering racial harmony, tolerance and cultural diversity.

This is achieved through the presentaion of cultural events such as theatrical performances, concerts, lectures, art & craft exhibitions, fashion parades, traditional dance performance, live musical entertainment and a street fair.

The first festival was held in 1994 and in March 2010 the seventeenth festival will be held again under the auspices of the Greek Community of Tasmania. The members of this community form the volunteer brigade who give generously of their time in the presentation of the events.
